PIEMONTE/Monferrato:

1_4_cartina_piemonte

All of Piemonte is dedicated to viticulture, but the Monferrato region, between the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, here it is even more striking.

The vineyards cover almost all the summits and slopes of the hills, alternating with small woods. The reason for this particular vocation is in an excellent mix of climate and geological structure of the land thus enabling a wide spread of vines, most of them indigenous, and therefore as much again a variety of wines.
In Monferrato the vineyards and the wine are not only the major source of wealth, but also an expression of culture and tradition, the result of a tenacious attachment to the land and centuries of hard work needed to implement an agricultural transformation of exceptional size.
